CHIP SHORTAGES: General Motors to shut down 3 plants

by basklifenews

General Motors would shut down three of its plants due to the growing shortages of production chips. The three affected plants are the CAMI plant in Ingersoll, Ontario; the Fairfax plant in Kansas City, Kansas; and the San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico.

The company noted that “when there is a shortage of semiconductors that impacts production, in some cases we intend to build vehicles without certain modules and will complete them as soon as possible. This will help us quickly meet strong customer demand as more semiconductors become available.”
