The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has taken Burna Boy’s Grammy Awards winning to the peak. He showered the talented Burna Boy with landed property at the Old GRA, Port Harcourt, and 10 million naira to put up a befitting house. Added to that, Governor Wike promised to give 10 million naira to each musical artist that would perform in the concert in celebration of the Grammy Award-winning singer.
However, reactions have followed Burna Boy’s receiving of N10 million gift from Governor Nyesom Wike. One of the tweeter users wrote: “Burna Boy and the rest of the artistes will collect N10M each from Wike and celebrate it here. Next day they will tweet about lack of infrastructure and focus on Lagos State. Have they ever ask Wike about End SARS Judicial Panel of Inquiry.” Another user noted: “Lmao Burna boy will come on Twitter to drag politicians, he’ll call them looters and all but see the hypocrite hailing Wike after receiving N10M. Teachers are being owed 5 years salary in the same Rivers State o.”
Meanwhile, another Twitter user, Tacha, said that those criticizing Burna Boy for collecting the property and money given to him by Governor Wike, “are mad.” She even suggested that “Burna Boy should have a whole town named after him.”
