Pope Francis amends the Code of Canon Law for women

The head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, has formally, and officially amended the Code of Canon Law to favor women’s participation in Mass serving, reading Scriptures, and administering Holy Communion.

Before this period, in many Catholic dioceses, women were allowed in altar services; but their services were not formally endorsed by the Vatican authority. Pope Francis review in favour of the women, put to rest any obstruction from the Conservative.

For now, Catholic women are not allowed to become a Deacon or Priest. Long before now, some Catholics have argued on the need to allow Catholic women to become priests similar to other Christian denominations.
