Trump’s government accuses China of genocide in the Xinjiang region

The American government has accused the Chinese authority of committing “genocide and crimes against humanity through its repression of Uighurs and other mostly Muslim minority groups in the western Chinese region of Xinjiang.”

According to the New York Times, US government alleged that China engaged in the “use of forced sterilizations, birth control and family separations to destroy Uighur identity.”

However, China has denied committing genocide, blaming the American government of false accusation to stoke tension in the region, and destabilise it.

Since 16th century, Islam has contributed significantly to the way life of Uighur people. Many inhabitants of Xinjiang have been detained and re-educated to Chinese ideology and dcotrine.

Chinese government had expressed concern about the rise of extremism in the region of Xinjiang and was determined to curb it.
