CICELY TYSON: An African-American entertainer has died at 96

Cicely Tyson, a pioneer African-American actress, fashion model, and writer has died on 28th January 2021, aged 96.

Her entertainment career, which spanned for many years had earned her many awards, too numerous to mention. For her achievement, in 2016, President Barack Obama of the United States of America awarded her the Medal of Freedom.

In reaction to her death President Obama tweeted, “in her extraordinary career, Cicely Tyson was one of the rare award-winning actors whose work on the screen was surpassed only by what she was able to accomplish off of it. She had a heart unlike any other—and for 96 years, she left a mark on the world that few will ever match.”
