Justice Nwali Sylvester Ngwuta, a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, from Amofia-Ukawu, Onicha Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, has died at the age of 70.
He graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University and was Call to the bar in 1978. He became a Judge of the Abia State High Court in October 1995 and appointed to the bench of the Nigerian Courts of Appeal on 22 May 2011. Two years later, in May 2013, he elevated to the bench of the Supreme Court of Nigeria as Justice. On 8 October 2016, the Department of State Security Services (DSS) arrested him on the allegation of corruption. He was suspended from the bench for three years and later reinstated in September 2019.
