The Governor of Borno, Babagana Zulum, made a surprising visit to Mohammed Goni College of Islamic Legal Studies in Maiduguri in the early hour of Sunday at the camp of Internally Displaced Persons, Abadam Local Government Area, Borno State, and discovered that out of 1000 people that as registered Displaced Persons only 450 were available in the camp.
It was discovered that the 650 people unavailable at the camp when the governor visited were used to dwelling at their various houses in the night to come back to the camp early in the morning to claim benefits meant for displaced persons. The governor decried such dubious activities and vowed to sieve the ghost beneficiaries out of the IDP camp.
