Burna Boy (an Afrobeat superstar) and Wizkid have made Nigerians proud by winning Grammy awards after Sikiru Adepoju became the first Nigerian to win the Grammy in 2009.
Burna Boy had lost to Angelique Kidjo for the 2020 Grammy edition. His victory was made possible by beating Antibalas, an American Afrobeat band. On the other hand, Ayo Balogun, known as Wizkid, collaborated with Beyoncé and Blue Ivy, on the song ‘Brown Skin Girl’ to win at the 63rd GRAMMY Awards ceremony.
