Justice Augustine Odokwo of Akwa Ibom State High Court sitting in Ikot Ekpene has sentenced a disgraced and peccable academic, Professor Peter Ogban, lecturing in the University of Uyo, to 3 years imprisonment without option of fine, for electoral malpractice and results’ falsification during the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial Election in 2019. For example, in the election result of Oruk Anam LGA, APC got 10,534 votes while the PDP 25,123 got votes. However, the irresponsible and unexemplary professor alleged declared that APC got 15, 534 votes and the PDP got 20,123 votes – thereby robbing PDP 5000 votes to pay APC.
