Vice President Pence has written a letter to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, declining to invoke section 4 of the 25th Amendment, in which he will hold a meeting with other chief officers of the executive departments, declare President Trump unfit and assume as Acting President.
According to Pence, “with just eight days left in the President’s term, you and the Democratic caucus are demanding that the Cabinet and I invoke the 25th Amendment. I do not believe that such a course of action is in the best interest of our nation or consistent with our Constitution.”
