GOOD NIGHT FLYING EAGLE [NAF]: Died serving their fatherland

On Thursday, 25th February 2021, the seven Air Force officers that died after their surveillance plane crashed at the outskirt of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Sunday, 21st February 2021, were buried at the national military cemetery in Abuja capital. The atmosphere of the burial ceremony was beclouded with tears, weeping, and wailing – even the Chief of the Air Staff Oladayo Amao was not left out.

Air Vice-Marshal Ibikunle Daramola, the spokesman of the Nigerian Air Force, noted that the officers that were on-board when the NAF Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft crashed due to engine failure are: Flight Lieutenant Haruna Gadzama (Captain), Flight Lieutenant Henry Piyo (Co-pilot), Flying Officer Micheal Okpara (Airborne Tactical Observation System specialist), Warrant Officer Bassey Etim (ATOS specialist), Flight Sergeant Olasunkanmi Olawunmi (ATOS specialist), Sergeant Ugochukwu Oluka (ATOS specialist), and Aircraftman Adewale Johnson (Onboard Technician).
